Woman Assaulted After Leaving Oktoberfest, Suspect Remains at Large

29-09-2025

Munich police are investigating an alleged sexual assault that occurred Friday evening near the Oktoberfest grounds, according to official statements. The incident took place around 9:30 PM when a 21-year-old local woman was walking with an unknown man she had reportedly just met at the festival, heading toward Theresienhöhe area.

Authorities state the man suddenly grabbed the woman and pulled her into bushes near the festival perimeter. Police reports indicate that sexual acts were subsequently committed against the woman's will, though investigators note it remains unclear whether the initial pulling into the bushes was already against her consent. The suspect fled the scene immediately after the incident.

The victim managed to free herself from the bushes and immediately approached a nearby police patrol. She sustained minor injuries during the assault and received medical attention following the incident. Munich criminal police have opened a rape investigation, with the case being handled by Commissariat 15 of the Munich Police Department.

Police have released a description of the wanted individual: a 22-year-old male, approximately 1.70 meters tall, light-skinned with dark, short, curly hair, clean-shaven, and wearing traditional Bavarian attire at the time of the incident. Authorities are requesting anyone with information to contact the police at 089 2910-0.
